My Story
My story begins with my parents, who found each other as well as their love for ballroom dance while attending Brigham Young University and participating in the prestigious BYU Ballroom Dance Touring Company. After graduating, their pro career was very successful, yet short due to my arrival. I was raised surrounded by the wonders of music and dance, often chasing my parents around while they practiced, and helping “direct” the youth formation team my parents directed for many years. After many years building my technique, artistry and discipline, I was finally placed on the BYU Ballroom Dance Touring Company, scheduled to compete at Blackpool exactly 25 years after my parents had won the British Latin Formation Title. I’m very happy to say that our team won that year. After three more years fighting through the damage the Covid-19 pandemic caused to our program, we were again able to compete at Blackpool, defending our title and sharing our love for dance in unity with our teammates. As I wrap up my final year in this incredible program, I am very excited to move into the professional world of Ballroom Dance, and I look forward to cultivating the many facets of joy and growth that it offers to anyone who chooses to participate!
