Experience

American Smooth Experience

After many years of training in International 10-Dance, I was introduced to American Smooth, and my life changed. Quickly moving to my #1 competitive priority, I spent many hours focusing on building my skills, and more importantly, my art, as I performed and competed American Smooth. I hope to be able to contribute to the growth and development of this style as it spreads across the world.

American Rhythm Experience

In 2019, Kyle Spinder was teaching an American Rhythm course, and encouraged my sister and I to participate in the class. Having not competed Latin in about 4 years, I was excited to get back into the more energetic dance styles. While we both had different American Smooth partners at the time, we continued Rhythm together, and it is now one of our favorite styles. It is special to us because we got to do it together!

Cabaret Experience

During a unique year where I was left without an open partner due to a myriad of factors, I was lucky to be able to try out cabaret with one of my best friends, DeeDee. With her expertise and my determination, we were able to create one of my favorite routines of all time. I am very proud of what we accomplished together.

Formation Team Participation

Formation team has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My parents directed the BYU Youth Ballroom A Team from 2004-2017, accruing 24 national championship titles with their team, maintaining one of the longest winning streaks amongst any formation team anywhere. Due to their incredible success, I was able to be exposed high levels of excellence and discipline. I was able to be on their youth team for 3 year, winning 5 titles, and then I was able to participate with the BYU Ballroom Dance Touring company, winning twice at the British Open Formation Championships in Blackpool, England in 2019 and 2023. Both of these experiences are so precious to me, as I was able to make friends for life and participate in something larger than myself. Because of these formative experiences, it is a core goal of mine to bring the joys of formation to the world, and to strive to build programs of joy and excellence wherever I can. Please enjoy the videos and photos of my journey through formation.

Formation Team Directorship

I have been so blessed to be trusted with directing in the BYU Youth Junior Formation Program for the last 4 years! Working with the Junior kids has been challenging, inspiring, and most of all, FUN! I am so grateful to have taken home 4 US National titles during my time coaching this awesome group of kids.
