AND MORE

My Name is Brandon Keck, and you can learn more about me by exploring this website. More importantly, I am building a Youth Formation Ballroom program just like the ones that shaped my life and paid for my University Education through scholarships. Nothing has impacted me more than dancing on a team with my best friends. Now that I’ve graduated and moved away from home, I am excited to build my own program in hopes of sharing the light and excitement that Ballroom can bring into our lives, especially as a team sport.

As this is all very new, and still being built, we will begin with introductory ballroom dance courses dedicated to Youth in our community. Once we arrive at 6 couples of dancers, we will begin working towards local performances, and eventually, competing in the Youth National Formation Championships held in Utah.

My Ballroom Team Journey

When I was 7, my mom decided to create a small intro to ballroom dance class that I was able to take with my little sister, as well as a few friends from around the community. Later that year all 8 of us auditioned to be part of the BYU Youth Ballroom DANCESPORT program. Due to my mom’s excellent training, we all made the top tier preteen team and won 1st place at the national championships in March. I continued with the program, obsessed with how enjoyable it was to dance, train, improve, and compete. After i graduated High School, I was admitted to BYU with an Excellence in ballroom dance scholarship. I received this largely due to my participation in Team Dancing as well as my hard work on my own individual dancing events. During my journey through college, I was able to tour the world with the BYU Ballroom Dance Touring Company and visited all over Europe and Southern Africa. My team was even able to win the British Open Formation Event twice, with teams from China, England, Denmark, and the United States of America in attendance. The experiences I’ve had on formation ballroom teams has been fulfilling in and of themselves, but the opportunities to grow as a person and connect with cultures around the world, all while making friends that I will cherish forever, are the most substantial gains I’ve made in life.

This journey has been a HUGE blessing in my life, and it can also be a prosperous journey for you. As a dedicated dancer and coach, I would love to guide and mentor you through the pathway to college, careers, and excellence, through dedication to ballroom dance.
